How to configure Outlook Express to send and receive my email?

You can use the following step by step guide to help you configure Outlook Express 6.

Step 1:

Launch Outlook Express. Go to the "Tools" menu and click "Accounts...". This would open a window titled "Internet Accounts". See step 2.

 

Step 2:

Now go to "Add" and click "Mail..." to open the Internet Connection Wizard.

 
 

Step 3:

Type your name. This will appear in the "From" field in the outgoing messages.
Click "Next >".

 

Step 4:

Type your email address. Click "Next >".

 

Step 5:

Type your E-mail Server Names. Select select "POP3" from the drop-down menu. (This should be selected by default.) And enter the server name, "mail.yourdomain.com" for the incoming mail server and outgoing mail server. Click "Next >".

 

Step 6:

Enter your "Internet Mail Logon." Your Account name is your complete email address, and the password is the one that you specifyed when you created this email account through website "cpanel". Leave the "SPA" checkbox blank. Click "Next >".

 

Step 7:

Following box will appear with a congratulation message. Click "Finish".

 

Step 8:

This is what you should see after clicking "Finish" at the previous step. If you don't see this box follow "Step 9".

 

Step 9:

Go to the "Tools" menu and click "Accounts...". This would open a window titled "Internet Accounts".

Now we need to set authentication for outgoing server. Select your email account and click on the "Properties" button.

 

Step 10:

Next, click on the "Servers" tab in the Properties dialog.

 

Step 11:

Check the checkbox "My server requires authentication." Then click on the "Settings..." button to the right of that checkbox."

 

Step 12:

Click on "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". (This should be selected by default.) Now click "OK".

 

Step 13:

You're all done! To begin sending and receiving email, click on the "Send/Recv" icon in the toolbar.
